The ripples on the surface of a puddle can be glorious in their ability to be intricate and so very simple at the same time. The wandering circles... feeling lost in a simple pattern of concentric, mesmerizing detail. Makes time stop. What could be a few simple ellipses can become like hours and days... What seems like a shadow is like a puzzle in its complexity.

Gah. No more letting my mind wander. I'm not deleting this just so I have proof years from now that I was loony.

This is another one for my art class-- this time, I painted black and white ripple-ish water, with shadows and sunlight creating the patterns all over the surface. This took about 8 hours, and is about 1.5 ft by 1.5 ft, or .5 meters by .5 meters.

I had a lot of fun with this painting. A lot of it was just messing around with the paint... it was a good way to let my mind wander away from trouble and just... take a deep breath.

Anywho... sketch dump soon?
